First was "won" by every angler who showed up at Lake Baylor...! Only 45 anglers showed up, but not a single bass was caught. NONE, Zero, nada. One angler thought he might have had a bite. Both lakes (Childress and Baylor) were fished and the "winners" were decided by a drawing. 1st place and $450 went to Gary Griffin. 2nd place and $225 to Jeff McClary. 3rd place and $90 pocketed by Bobby Beer. 4th place worth $45 went to Tiffany Hales. Jason Willis, Jr won the $50 Luck of the Draw. The Fun Tournament scheduled for April 17 has been cancelled. Until the Golden Algae problem is gone and some bass can be caught at Lake Baylor, no more Fun Tournament will be held. It is really sad to think that our region's best BIG bass lake might threaatened by the deadly and persistent Golden Algae. Special Thanks to Chester Hales for serving as Tournament Director while I was at my daughter's wedding. Anglers are hoping that Lake Baylor will recover this year from Golden Algae like it finally did last year. Maybe TPW will find a cure for GA... maybe.....perhaps.
