Lake Greenbelt Sept Fun Fishing Results
Amarillo's BOB FULGHAM used a white
Titanic spinnerbait at the Sept. 8th Fun Fishing
Tournament on Lake Greenbelt to catch 2 smallmouths and
a largemout bass that totaled 6.72 lbs. For his skillful
efforts, Fulgham took home $460 and a trophy.
Second place (for the 3rd time in the last 4
tournaments) went to Claude's CHESTER HALES. Chester,
who builds the OUGGIE Lures at his antique store on the
Square in Claude used a 1/4 oz. black blade within a
blade Buzzbait to catch a very nice 6.23 lb. black bass.
He also broke off and lost another black that he says
could have eaten the 6 pounder. Chester pocketed $184
and the hard luck story of the day.
Third place and $92 went to Amarillo's RON GADMAN with
two bass that weighed 5.02 lbs.

Only two regular Fun Tournaments remain this year. LAKE
MEREDITH ON SATURDAY
MORNING, SEPT 22 and then over to
UTE LAKE on Saturday morning , Sept. 29th. A fishing
license is NOT required in New Mexico during this
tournament because of a State wide free fishing day. The
entry fee is only $25, and all anglers are invited. For
those anglers who earn their invitation by finishing in
the top ten at any Fun Tournament AND enter at least 4
events, the 2001 TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS will be held on
OCTOBER 13 -- at a lake to be announced.
Fall fishing in our area is terrific, so it is time
hit the lake. Good Luck and Good fishing, everybody.
