LAKE GREENBELT -- TODD TOWN WINS
After a half dozen times in the top 5, Amarillo TOOD
TOWN claimed a win at the May 10th Fun Tournament at Lake
Greenbelt. Using a Carolina rigged 4 inch Power Slug, Town
weighed three chucky bass that totaled 8.04 lbs. Good job
Todd and enjoy the $540 first Place Money.
Second place was worth $270 to the 2002 TOC
winner, DENNIS STIDHAM with three bass that tipped the
scales at 7.77 lbs. Stidham used a ZOOM grub on TOP of the
moss that was growing in water 7 to 10 feet deep, and had a
3-bass limit by 9:30.
Third place and $108 went to BRENT BREZNIK
of Borger with three bass at 7.44 lbs. Breznik used a red
Rat-L-Trap on main lake flats in water that was 7 to 15 feet
deep.
Other anglers in the Top Ten (and their
lures) included BILLY BEER of Liberal KS at 7.32 lbs using
jig and saltcraw, GARY DZIEZIC of Claude at 7.26 lbs. on a
black lizard, RONNIE HILL of Canadian at 6.91 lbs. on
pumpkin senko in the grass, DARREL BLADES of Canyon at 6.62
lbs. on white Fluke, ROY ALDERSON of Lefors at 6.22 lbs. on
Fluke up the river, DWANE MANSEL of Amarillo at 6.10 lbs. on
a 3 inch chartreuse tube, and 10th place was worth $54 to
BRADY RUSSELL of Amarillo at 5.85 lbs.
38 of the 54 anglers brought in keepers, but
most were the small males caught in the shallow water.
Winners at the Luck of The Draw included $50 PARKER BOAT
certificate to Dwane Mansel, $25 GEBO's cetificate to Curtis
Schaeffer, bag of Ouggie lures to Frankie Sparling, $25
certificate from On Your Feet to Dwight Dowd and Royce
Scheets, and the $50 cash was won by "BIRTHDAY GIRL" Mary
Alderson of Lefors.
The fishing was good, but GB could use more
water. All bass were released alive.
